Default vertical bands

I have been trying to get vertical bands on the chart Production chart 2005 attached.

If you take a look at the workbook data 2005 I would like vertical bands to indicate products on the chart, Cederberg one colour, Nutmeg another colour and so on. This would help me to identify exactly which product was running when looking at the chart.

I have been trying to get this right with your book Excel Charts chapter 8 figure 8.5 is very similar to what I need. I think the problem is that I have defined the chart as a XY and not a combined chart with columns. I don't know how to change it to have both.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
Gordon
