Default Excel on a Mac

I'm working on a Mac at home, and I'm going crazy because the F2 key
doesn't let me do in-cell editing the way I've grown accustomed to
doing on my PC. I'd be happy to learn another key stroke, but I can't
find one! Anybody know how I can change a cell's information without
touching the mouse, and without over-writing it completely?

thanks!
Craig
