Default Custom Format Cells

Hi all,
I am trying to format a numeric cell. I have a number that is numeric,
but I want to add a zero at the beginning of the number. I use the
custom format procedu "0"#. This will put zeros in the cells, but
when I look in the formula bar, the zero is omitted.

Any ideas?

Randy
