Default Beginners OLAP

What are the differences between OLAP & Pivot tables?

We use pivot tables extensivley, and recenlty upgraded our db's to SQL and
wondered if OLAP was more powerful that using Pivot Tables.

How do I start OLAP reports using Excel & SQL?
