This is a nit, but the pair of quotes isn't really needed, as long as the
second semicolon is there.

One way:
Tools Options View
And un-check "zero values."

Another way:
Format Conditional formatting
and set the font color to the background color when a cell is zero.

Another way:
=IF( <formula=0, "", <formula )

Another way:
Format Cells Number Custom
And put the following for Type:
###;-###;""

(I have Excel 97.)
