Default Excel 2010 error

Recently upgraded to Office 2010. When I now open an Excel file,
spreadsheet opens with error box stating something like, insufficient
resources to display entire spreadsheet. How do I eliminate the error? I
suspected it was because some formulas referred to an entire column,
instead of a smaller range, but I believe I corrected those-yet still the
error message.
