Type the text.

Use your mouse and select the characters you want to subscript.
Right clickFormat CellsSubscriptOK
Then hit Enter

If you do this a lot (I used to!) there is a free add-in here that makes it
a bit easier:

Yes it is possible to have superscript and subscript in excel.

Step1: After typing the H20, just select only 2 and right click
step2: format cells
step3: In effects you will find superscript and subscript options
