As new data is input the chart remains the same and doesn't reflect new data.
The data values and number of entries can be completely different. I think there is a setting somewhere to automate the chart update but I can't find it. Thanks Steve |

If you're adding data below the range pointed to by the chart, then the chart
won't update. If you put the source data in an Excel Table, then the chart will update. Otherwise, you're going to have to click on the chart & drag the range indicators down to increase the # of rows used. Appreciate the quick response. However this is not quite the problem. The data may totally change but the chart remains the same "Bob Umlas, Excel MVP" wrote: If you're adding data below the range pointed to by the chart, then the chart won't update. Learned that if I filter the data and then change the filter back to "All"
then Charts change. Just have to be sure I pick something that is always there, so I put a dummy date at the beginning of the data and choose it via a macro and then choose all. Voila it's fixed "Steve" wrote: Bob Appreciate the quick response. However this is not quite the problem. I've run into this problem too. What solved it for me was this: make sure that the field (column) references for your horizontal X-axis labels is the same as the field (column) references for your other data. If your field reference for x-axis labels ends before the field reference for your other data, the most recent data points won't appear in your graph.
