dear all

I would be inclined to use a pivot table for that.
Data | Pivot Table or Pivot Chart... Follow the wizard. Drop the Employee # and Date into the left column with the hours in the data section. You end up with this... Emp #.ID Date Total 116 1/3/2010 11 3/3/2010 11 3/28/2010 11 4/3/2010 11 116 Total 44 120 1/3/2010 11 2/3/2010 11 3/3/2010 11 3/23/2010 11 3/25/2010 11 4/3/2010 11 120 Total 66 131 1/3/2010 11 2/3/2010 11 3/3/2010 11 3/16/2010 11 3/25/2010 11 131 Total 55 150 3/14/2010 9 3/15/2010 11 3/16/2010 11 3/17/2010 11 4/3/2010 11 150 Total 53 Grand Total 218 -- HTH...
