INSERTING NEW ROWS
 

I own a spreadsheet that has daily data inputted for, say 7, years; to add
rows to increase my size, I "Insert" rows at the top of the spreadsheet, say
10 rows every day! And, for years, only until recently, every new cell was
properly formatted.

Now, each time I "Insert" a rows, my column formatted (as todays time) as
follows:

12:43am becomes 12:43, or
1:27pm becomes 1:27

and, this occurs EVERY DAY for 3 rows only of my newly "INSERTED" 12 to 14
rows!

I have never had this happen before, and I immediately fix the dilemma with
the Format Painter -- just one extra step that I never, before, had to
perform!

CAN ANYONE INFORM ME AS TO WHY I, SUDDENLY, INCURRED, THIS PROBLEM?

Sounds like your selected rows, when inserting x new rows, need to be
formatted as desired.

I would agree with you...but the rows, say 50 of them, are all formatted
correctly; there are always only 3 rows that require the date to be
reformatted.

If I 'Insert' 50 rows (1 through 50), rows numbered 46, 47, and 48 ONLY
require reformatting!

I am perplexed.

INSERTING NEW ROWS
 

Inserting rows does NOT insert new rows. The amount of rows/column/cells in
Excel is fixed. When you insert rows all you are doing is moving rows down.
So IF you MUST insert rows (duplicate formatting) you have to NOT select
your last table row and stop your selection 1-short. Having said that, try
formatting your entire columns as desired.

IMO, you should never need to "Insert" rows, simply continue with existing
rows at the bottom of your table, the sort you table after data entry is
complete.
