How do I add the subtotal row to an existing table without "manually
entering" the formulas?

I'd sort the data by my key field(s).

Then apply Data|subtotals (in xl2003 menus).

You could enter the formula once, then copy it across the row, is that what
you mean?

Sorry, I found it.

Right Click on Table-"Table"-"Totals Row"
