SUM troubleshoot
When using SUM for a column of numbers=the result is ######## (8 number signs)
if i double click on the box and hit F9 -it will give me total. I tried going to Excel Options/Formulas and selecting Automatic under workbook calculation. This did not solve the problem. I have also tried manually entering the formula ex: SUM(D2:D60) no luck using Office 2007 version on a Vista 64 bit PC Any suggestions? -- Dee from NJ |

The ######## is usually an indication of that the result does not fit
into the cell. Solution: Enlarge the column width. Hopes this helps. .... The easiest way to fix this is to let Excel determine the column width.
Suppose your result is in column C. Position your cursor between columns C and D. When the cursor changes to a double-headed arrow, double click. Excel with then set the width such that all data is displayed. Regards, Fred "Per Jessen" wrote in message ... The ######## is usually an indication of that the result does not fit into the cell.
