Default Linked Spreadsheets 2003 - 2007

Hi all
Our Accountants use a number of linked spreadsheets, if one of the sheets is
opened in XL2003 then the links to other spreadsheets and other workbooks
update without the need to open all the other sheets, however for users of
XL2007 the sheets need to be opened for them to update. Is there a setting in
2007 that allows the sheets to update without opening all the other sheets
(or workbooks)
Thanks in advance
