Number Format: Convert No. to thousands
OR if you are looking at converting while you enter the numbers then..
ToolsOptionsEditcheck 'Fixed decimal' and adjust 'Places' to minus 3 (-3) Now try entering 1253... -- Jacob "Faraz A. Qureshi" wrote: Any idea, how to convert an entry of 2,153 be displayed/converted to 2,153,000, i.e. zeros' format? -- Thanx in advance, Best Regards, Faraz |

Number Format: Convert No. to thousands
Thanks Micky for adding that..
Faraz; please be aware that is an application setting. -- Jacob "מיכאל (מיקי) אבידן" wrote: 1) Not only this cannot be called "format" - because it is a real Multiplication, by 1,000, of every number you type - be aware that this will take place in ANY CELL / IN ANY SHEET / IN ANY WORKBOOK (!!!) until you switch it back to 0. 2) Lets assume that you typed values into 10 cells [B1:B1] and now you want to edit B3. [In B3 you types 1,234 which immediately changed into 1,234,000] Take a good look what happens if, by mistake(!), you entered the edit mode of cell B4 - hit [F2] or Double-Click that cell and then pushed [Enter] or left that cell by selecting another cell... 3) Suppose you want to edit a long number by changing only ONE of its digits. *** Try all the above... *** Micky "Faraz A.
