how can i change the format of a highlighted range? when i select a range of
cells i want them to show up as highlighted while they are selected. right now they appear to be maybe one shade darker than the rest of the page and are not noticeable other than the bold line around the range. this lack of contrast is a problem when I use the go to special formulas function to attempt to see all cells which contain formulas. there is no contrast between the highlighted cells and those that are not. |

This macro changes the color of the Selected cells. It does not "remember"
the original color when the Selection is changed. Enter the following event macro in the worksheet code area: Private Sub Worksheet_SelectionChange(ByVal Target As Range) Cells.Interior.ColorIndex = xlNone Target.Interior.ColorIndex = 6 End Sub Because it is worksheet code, it is very easy to install and use: 1. right-click the tab name near the bottom of the window 2. select View Code - this brings up a VBE window 3. paste the stuff in and close the VBE window If you save the workbook, the macro will be saved with it. To remove the macro: 1. bring up the VBE windows as above 2. clear the code out 3. close the VBE window To learn more about macros in general, see: http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/getstarted.htm To learn more about Event Macros (worksheet code), see: http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/event.htm -- Gary''s Student - gsnu200909 "Chris" wrote: how can i change the format of a highlighted range? when i select a range of cells i want them to show up as highlighted while they are selected. right now they appear to be maybe one shade darker than the rest of the page and are not noticeable other than the bold line around the range. this lack of contrast is a problem when I use the go to special formulas function to attempt to see all cells which contain formulas. there is no contrast between the highlighted cells and those that are not. |
