Default Charts

I have just produced a chart in excel and as soon as I click on the
spreadsheet again the chart area turns grey and I can't see the content of
the chart. Does anyone know how to switch back to regular setting?
Any help is much appreciated

As answered in microsoft.public.excel.charting:

Choose ToolsOptions
On the View tab, under Objects, select "Show All"
Click OK
