Default XL2007: Down < down on Enter?

On Windows 7 Pro, Excel 2007 sp2:

Repeatable on my machine: Enter something in cells A1:A3. Tab to D1.
Enter something in D1, press Enter. Cell A2 becomes active cell.

My expectation is that cell D2 should become the active cell. Option is set
to move selection down on Enter.

Am I missing something?

UNcheck "After pressing Enter move selection" Option.

Default XL2007: Down < down on Enter?

Turns out what I was missing was that I had an old MS bluetooth keyboard
attached to my laptop. When the keyboard is out of the loop, all behaves as
expected.

thanks all for replies.

GeoBrooks -

If you use Tab to move across the line, then the Enter will move to the next
line under the cell you started in. If you Click in cell D1 (rather than
tab to it), then hit enter, then Excell will move to cell D2.
