Let's say you have the items in Column A.

First sort all, largest to smallest. This will put the letters first,
followed by the numbers but they'll both be in descending order.

Then sort on just the letters in the column, smallest to largest.

Then sort on just the numbers in the column, smallest to largest.

Hope you don't have to do this too often...
