Default why do cell values change with changes in unrelated cells

I am developing a work book. I find that when I insert a value in a cells,
nearby cellsm, with no direct or indirect connection, change. What do I need
to do to stop this happening?

hung up,

Making a change may force a recalc, in which case any volatile function may change - say, if they
are date or time related. Beyond that, you would need to post what your nearby cells contain.
