Default Large Worksheet Conditional Formatting

I have a worksheet that has approximately 647 fields (some are separaters)
that by the end of the month has between 56 and 62 columns. I have seriuos
issues when all of the conditional formatting is entered it slows the
worksheet to a crawl and if you try to copy a column it locks uo the whole
program. The formatting is a simple between B2 and C2 that turns the entry
red if it is out of range. And help or suggestions would be greatly
appreciated.
