Want to keep data entered, but show as not used or rejected by lining through
the entry.

Try this...

Select the cell(s) in question
Goto the menu FormatCellsFont tab
Select Strikethrough in the Effects group
OK out

You could select the relevant cells then Format Cells and select Effects
Strikethrough

Although Conditional Formatting may be the way to go.
What is the criteria for 'lining through' a cell?
You can set up Conditional Formatting so when that criteria is met the
cell(s) automatically line through.
Supply more detail for a better answer
