Default COLUMN HEADINGS WON'T KEEP SAME HEADING NAME

Using 2007, how do I stop my spreadsheet from automatically changing my table
heading title? I have 3 columns labeled HT, PM, and ZC. I want to copy
these titles a few times over. But everytime I copy them the program
automatically changes the column titles to say HT2, PM2, ZC2 and HT3, PM3,
and HT3, and so on. I know why it's doing it (to be able to sort/filter by
these columns), but i removed the sort arrow from these headings, yet it
won't let me keep the same titles. Help!

Thank you.
