Default (C) not copyright

I use excel 2007. I need to enter a (C) in a cell, but when I do the C is
circled like a copyright symbol. How can I get a (C).

hi
your auto correct options may be kicking in.
in 07, office buttonoptionsproofing groupauto correct options
find and delete the offending entry.
