enter numeric value starting with zero
On assigning numeric value starting with zero , the value is shown without
zero. I want to show zero in front of the assign value only in those values where zero is given. |

Just format the cell as Text and enter try to enter the value
Select the range and do Right Click and select Format CellsNumberCategoryText and give ok. Otherwise before entering the value in a cell type ' and enter your Zero value numbers. Another possibility is to custom format the cell with format code e.g.
"000000". This works if you want to display numbers with a fixed length, in my example 6 characters. E.g. 123 will be displayed like 000123, 4567 like 004567, etc. Regards, Stefi €˛Ms-Exl-Learner€¯ ezt Ć*rta: Just format the cell as Text and enter try to enter the value Select the range and do Right Click and select Format CellsNumberCategoryText and give ok. If you want to use the value as a number, you could format the individual cell with a custom format with the correct number of digits of the form 000000 (for a 6-digit number). Of course, that's a manual operation. However, if the value is never uses a number (e.g. never used in an arithmetic expression), it would be better to prefix the value with an apostrophe or, if you have the benefit of forethought, format the cell as Text before entering the value. If you are importing data, you can set the column to be imported as Text instead of General. |
