Excel saved files won't open, only the program opens
When I try to open a saved file created with the same version of Excel only
the excel program opens with a new workbook. Every attempt at opening a file only opens another Excel program with a new workbook. This is not specific with any file but happens with all Excel files. |

As I see, following solution should work : Sometimes one of these works when you're having trouble with double clicking on the file in windows explorer: 1. Tools | Options | General | : Ignore other applications (uncheck it) or 2. Close Excel and Start Button | Run - excel / unregserver then Start Button | Run - excel / regserver The /unregserver & /regserver stuff resets the windows registry to excel's factory defaults. click yes below, if it works "DaynaDain" wrote: When I try to open a saved file created with the same version of Excel only the excel program opens with a new workbook.
