Your first answer was good enough for my situation but the second didnt seem to work. Could you expand your steps using the following example You have a file with 5000 rows of information and you want to number each row 1 to 5000. I was assuming a formula in A1 when giving instructions.
For a series of incrementing numbers.................. Enter 1 in A1 In namebox type A1:A5000 and Enter EditFillSeriesLinearstep Value of 1 OR...........
