Default Pages going very slow to the print spooler

I have a new Latitude E6500 with a Core 2 Duo CPU P 8700/2.53 Ghz processor,
4 gb RAM. Running XP Pro. Office 2007.

Working with DELL Executive Resolutions on this problem, but so far little
progress.

I am sending Excel spread sheets with 12 to 16 Mb / 20 to 25 pages to the
printer. Takes 4 to 30 seconds per page to send to the print spooler, 1.5 to
6 min for the document. Variation does not seem to be related to anything.
Varies whether other programs are running or none running.

Takes equally as long to send the doc to the desk pdf converter. After
conversion - and reduced to 2 Mb - takes 3 to 4 sec to send the entire
document to the printer.

Printing itself works fine. Did not have this problem with my old Inspiron
Notebook. No problem sending Publisher docs with about 5 Mb to the printer.

Just to try something:
- Defragged the hard drive
- Uninstalled Google desk top
- Uninstalled AVG 8.5

Any ideas or suggestions? I am considering uninstalling Office 2003 from the
Inspiron and installing on the Latitude.

Any help immensely appreciated.

shouldn't be a problem on a new computer, but have you tried deleting temp
files, start/run/temp and start/run/%temp%
?
