Hi,
You would need a macro to do it in the same column but to do it in a helper column use the formula below and drag down. You can hide the original column. If you want a macro, post back. =LEFT(A1,8) Mike "Pass-the-Reality" wrote: I have a cell that contains information such as 12548569 Idaho Florida. The only thing I want to show is the first 8 characters of the data in that cell. What formula can I add to only show the first 8 characters so that I do not have to go into each cell and remove the state information? |
