Default Why can I not select transpose in excel?

Since I don't know what you're doing now, I don't know what you need to do
differently. But try this:
Select the data to transpose, use Edit | Copy or Ctrl+C and then click an
empty cell elsewhere and use Edit | Paste Special with the Transpose box
checked. Click [OK].
That should work.

paste my row as a column? Thanks for any help!
