Shortcut to switch from "fill down" to "copy" with mouse drag

I work extensively with "indicators" and "IDs" where a number can translate
into a series or it can be static for many cells. Is there a shortcut key I
can hold to "fill down" the same information for many in a series and then
let up to jump the sequence forward as it might normally. Look at the
following to get an idea.

Well, can alternately just use the fil handle to drag, click on the pop box
just right and select "Copy Cells" for same and "Fill Series" to increment...
