Use =SUMPRODUCT()
=SUMPRODUCT((A1:A1000="Smith")*(B1:B1000=90)) Alwasy consider SUMPRODUCT when you have moe than one criteria. -- Gary''s Student - gsnu200860 "Steve" wrote: One column contains names. the other numbers.
