Default Locked worksheet & hyperlinks (w/ select locked cells unchecked)

I have a worksheet that will be protected and I understand that I need to
allow selection of locked cells in order to allow hyperlinks to work.

My question is if there is any way to mimic what it would be like if I kept
select locked/locked cells unchecked? I feel like it looks cleaner and more
professional for my users if the worksheet just remained unclickable.

For some reason hyperlinks work when they are activated with VBA via a
command button to a specific cell that is unclickable. I also have some
clipart and text boxes that are hyperlinks to cells that are unclickable. Why
do they allow hyperlinks to say A1 in worksheet1 when that worksheet is
protected and cells are unclickable and locked?

You have discovered the alternatives. As to why - because... have to talk
with the Microsoft Programmers. But consider the command buttons, text
boxes, and clipart are not IN the cells, they reside on a graphics layer
above the spreadsheet, while the hyperlinks in cells are IN cells.
