I have spreadsheet that keeps showing the formula in the cell and not the
result of the formula. I am trying to change a text eg 0908 to a time eg 09:09:00 |

Hi
If this is happening for all the formulas then press Ctrl ` (the apostrophy to the left of the 1 key on most keyboards) If this is only happening in some cells then the problem is probably that the cell is formatted to text - choose Format, Cells, Number tab, change the format, then reenter the formula. -- If this helps, please click the Yes button. Not sure how you get 09:09:00 from 0908. As long as the text represents the time format hhmm or hmm: =--(TEXT(A1,"00\:00")) Format as Time 908 = 9:08 AM 0908 = 9:08 AM 30 = 12:30 AM 030 = 12:30 AM 0030 = 12:30 AM 1230 = 12:30 PM 0515 = 5:15 AM 1715 = 5:15 PM 0130 = 1:30 AM 1330 = 1:30 PM -- Biff Microsoft Excel MVP "dizzzy lizzzzy" <dizzzy wrote in message ...
