Default Excel 2007 - customize icons?

Recently had to start using Excel 2007 ... not a great fan of this product ...
Ribbons take up too much space ... too many clicks to get a function to work
.... so I customized the Quickl Access Toolbar. Noticed same icons used for
different functions ... Is there any way to make your own icons or customize
those provided to address the duplicate icon issue? Also, is there a way to
make the Quick Access Toolbar "WRAP"?

Default Excel 2007 - customize icons?

Hi,

Don't get me started!

I hate the quick access toolbar. It does wrap but you can't see it, you
have to click the arrow at the far right to expose the second row. Well if I
can't see it my small mind forgets that its there, and it doesn't save any
time by adding an extra click!

As for duplicate pictures - another complaint - you can't customize the
built-in buttons. You can record a macro to do the same command and attach
it to a button which you can customize. Very poor solution!

Microsoft told me after I had send repeated complaints regarding the QAT
during beta testing 2007 - "We hear you loud and clear." But you see what
got done.

like I said, don't get me started.

thanks everyone for your info ... guess I'll be doing macros for built in
commands to change the icons. Such a waste of time.

I think it's sad that this great application seems to have become more
cumbersome to use ... sigh ...

In 2007 you can use ExecuteMso

Application.CommandBars.ExecuteMso ("Bold")

For the MSO names see point 4 on this page
