I have an excel spreadsheet with a list/link I created through data
validation on the left hand corner (next to the formula bar). Now I need to
delete the link but still keep the data on the spreadsheet, I'm not able to
unlink the list or to change it through data validation. Is there a way to
remove the list from the toolbar?

Go to Insert Name Define, highlight the named list you want to remove and
select Delete.

I think you are referring to the NameBox where you created a named range for
your list of items in DV

InsertNameDefine.

Select the name and delete.

But I don't know why you are doing this.

Your DV cells will now have only the last selected value.
