You can also right click on the cell (or any highlighted range of cells),
then click on 'clear contents'. Also, remember that once a cell is highlighted, you just start typing to change what is in the cell. If you want to modify what is in the cell, and not lose what you already have, you have to click on the cell, then make your changes in the formula box (has the little 'fx' to the left of the box).
