Default Open EXCEL.exe in Background using a .BAT File

hi,

i have a script which exports some data in the TXT format. but that TXT
format i have to convert it to "XML SpreadSheet "format.

my question is is it possible to open excel in background using a bat file,
opens up a txt file in background, and save the txt file as xml spreadsheet
in background?

Thanks,
Sunil
