Default how do I automatically adjust a column width

Hi

I have an order sheet and am using a V Lookup to pull through the data.
Some of the data is say 10 characters and others 20 or more. Is it possible
for Excel to size its either cell or column to reflect the largest or
smallest set of characters. Otherwise some of the data is missing or the
column is so big the text is missing?

Thanks

Double click the line to the right of the column header. So to make B
exactly the right width double click the line between B and C in the column
header row
Or select all columns to be fixed and use Format : Columns : AutoWidth
best wishes
