automatic updates while worksheet is protected
Hi,
I am working on an Excel document, to which different users will have access to. I know I can protect a worksheet, and still allow users to change certain ranges with a certain password. This is what I want. But almost all data is based on link (via INDEX formula) to other document, which should be updates automatically. Is this combination possible? Best regards, Marieke |

You can lock or unlock cells on that worksheet.
If the cell is locked (nice for formulas and values that should not be changed) and the worksheet protected, then that cell can't be changed (without unprotecting the sheet). If the cell is unlocked (nice for data entry cells) and the worksheet is protected, then the user should be able to change the value in the cell. You can select a cell and then lock or unlock it via: (in xl2003 menus) Format|cells|Protection tab mariekek5 wrote: Hi, I am working on an Excel document, to which different users will have access to.
