Default Excel 2003 Pivot Table Issues

I am creating a pivot table on a data set that is 32000 rows and 10 columns.
Once I set the layout and select the fields I want to summarize and click
finish, the new tab appears, but the pivot table does not. Has anyone else
had this problem and how do I solve it

When you say the pivot table doesn't appear do you mean the the design are
does not show up? Or that the pivot table doesn't have data in it.

Nothing shows up at all. No data, no format, nada.
