Default IF, VLOOKUP or MATCH?

I have a spreadsheet with 6 tabs, each tab has 3 sets of data. I am trying to
find a number in each of the tabs and if found, perform an operation. The
number needs to be searched in 3 columns per tab so I would exceed the limit
of nested IFs. Any ideas? Thanks

Tony.
