Default excel only writes 0,0001 instead of 0,1

My Excel 2000 seems to have a problem. I can no longer write a normal "1"
without correcting it manualy. Interestingly the problem is only with the "1"
no other number is affected. When I wrtite "0,1" the programm writes "0,0001"
and if just type in a single "1", it writes "0001" - Who can help?

Thx in advance

Firstly thx for the quick reply:
Secondly:

No that also was my first thought, but the problem is as follows:
1. it only happens with the "1" any other numbers are ok
2. it also happens if I wirte only text like: "Today is the 1.5." then he
writes "Today is the 0001.5.", so always when I type a "1" the program types
"0001"
3. the problem is on every sheet, even new ones.
-- my only solution is to change it always manually after the program
changed it, and that cannot be right.

Please help!
