Default how do I recover a file that has been overwriten

I accidentally said yes to update a file not realizing I had a blank page - I
would like to recover the original file but am not sure how to do this or if
its even possible

Unless you have a backup file it isn't. Maybe you emailed it at some point,
and still have a copy in your sent items perhaps??
