formula bar on at all times
 

How is it possible keep the formula bar on at all times because it disappears
after menu actions or if one goes to a different spreadsheet file. Having to
constantly click the formula bar box on the View menu is tedious and
frustrating.

You didn't tell us which version you are working with.

In Excel 2007, open teh office button, select Excel Options button, choose
Advanced and go to teh Display group-- check the Formula bar option

In earlier versions the option is on teh tools menuOptions... I don't
recall which tab this is on.
