Default Excel 2007: Conditional formating of multiband colors

My posting on 7.5.209 entitled Excel 2002: Conditional formating of multiband
colors refers.

At present the coditional formating in Excel 2002 and 2007 still do not have
this rule for fast job. The user need to run VBA Code or Marcro or using a
formula helper column to get the result.

Running a a Macro in a network of PC is very risky as the user need to
determine reliability of the code with high degree of vigilant. Failure to do
so might cause major system problem when a virus program is wrongly run.

In view of that I would like to suggest MS to add new rules to the existing
conditional formating in Excel 2007 to do this job.

In order for MS to make new Excel versions more , powerful ,user friendly
and safe to use, more new rules need to be added in Pivot Table, Sub Total
Table and conditional formating and other data tools . Jobs previously done
by Macro should be converted to new rules in the existing data tool for fast
and safe jobs.
New data tools also need to be develop to create new possibility of doing a
job.

Hope my input is helpful to develop the next generation of Excel
Spreadsheet.

Thanks

Low

Hi Low,

Conditional formatting is based on the outcome of the condition
evaluating to True. If the evaluation is True, then the specific color
you selected is applied. i believe if you want this color scheme then
you will need to use VBA to effect the rotating colors

Hi,

I need to conditional format a table with 3 rotating colors of yellow, green
and blue. The condition to change the color is when the code changes.

Illustration:

A B C D
1 B12 XXX XXX Yellow
2 B12
3 C26 Green
4 C26
5 C26
6 D52 Blue
7 E27 Yellow
8 E27
9 E27
10 E27
11 G49 Green
12 G49
13 H96 Blue

There is a maximum of 3 formulas under conditional formating.

May I know what are the formulas 1, 2 and 3 in order for me to get the
result ?

Thanks

Low
