Excel 2007 - Validation
Is it possible to...make a cell a required field to fill in if there is an
entry in another field. As a type of data validation. i.e In B3 If B6 is not blank, make B3 a mandatory cell to fill in. B6 thru to B22 have data validation to choose from a list True, False, NA looking for, if any of the cells in that range are not blank, ensure they enter the file number in cell B3 Thanks |

You can use Conditional Formatting to change the background color of a cell
if another cell is not filled in. B6 can be a red color if B3 is not filled in and will turn to no color when B3 gets filled. But no way to actually enforce the filling in of B3 when B6 is not blank. The only sure method is to prevent sasving or closing if B3 is not filled. That would require VBA Gord Dibben MS Excel MVP On Thu, 7 May 2009 09:31:02 -0700, Nadine wrote: Is it possible to...make a cell a required field to fill in if there is an entry in another field.
