I have a password protected workbook that I know isn't corrupted because I
can open it on another computer. I also opened it as recently as yesterday on my own PC. But today, all of a sudden, it is a corrupted workbook. The workbook that won't open is in xlsx format. I have backups of this workbook that also won't open on this PC even they were created months before this problem arose. I do have a couple-year old version of this workbook in xls format that DOES open, and it is also password protected. So, it appears my Excel installation won't open any xlsx file that is password protected, because it thinks it is corrupted. I thought about uninstalling Excel and reinstalling but that doesn't appear to be possible without uninstalling all of Office 2007, which I'd rather not do unless absolutely necessary. Somehow, my installation of excel seems to have become corrupt--not my data files. All the non-password protected workbooks open fine. I am using the correct password to open the file, so I know that is not the problem. I'd appreciate any ideas to resolve this situation. Do I have to just reinstall all of Office? Thanks! |
