Default Looking Up Part Cell Contents

I have a cell that contains a string of information, ie. SL G12345 abcDEF123
22.04.2009

Does anyone know if there is a formula that I can put in, so that it will
extract the DEF123 element of the string to formulated cell?

Thanks
