Default Retrieve the Name of a Symbol

Whenever I Insert a Symbol, the name of the symbol is displayed in the lower
left-hand corner of the dialog box. For example, if I insert a Unicode hex
(2230), the dialog box displays:

VOLUME INTEGRAL

Is there any way to get this name? If a symbol has already been inserted in
a cell, how can I retrieve its name?
