Default Text Box vs. rectangle, what is the difference?

lately, when I want to use a text box, I use a rectangle instead. It
seems to serve the same purpose. Is there an advantage to a text box
over a rectange? If not, I will remove the text box icon from my
toolbar, as space is at a premium and can use the spot for another
icon.

Thanks,

Tonso

Text box allows a lot more fancy formats than a Rectangle.

Both can be assigned cell values
Both can be assigned macros
Both can be assigned hyperlinks
